National Press Festival celebrates 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

(VOVWORLD) - The 2025 National Press Festival will open in Hanoi on Thursday. The Vietnam Journalists’ Association and its affiliates have completed all preparations and are ready for an impressive event, held in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21.

Taking place from Thursday to Saturday, this year’s festival is the largest event ever, featuring 131 exhibition booths of 84 media agencies covering different fields, including politics, economy, culture, national defense, and foreign affairs.

Preparations of content, display, and organization have been finalized, said Le My Ai Linh, Vice Head of the 2025 National Press Festival Organizing Committee: “We expect the festival will offer a vivid, authentic, and inspiring panorama of 100 years of Vietnam’s revolutionary journalism, where the past is honored, the present is reflected, and the future is envisioned.”

A key highlight of the festival will be the National Press Forum, gathering 1,000 delegates including media agency leaders, journalists, communication experts, and speakers. Besides the opening and closing session, the forum will comprise of 10 in-depth discussions on pressing issues in journalism, aiming to work out solutions to build a professional, humane, and modern Vietnamese press in the era of national rise.

The Vietnam Press Museum will host an exhibition themed  “100 Years of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press: Achievements and Development Trends in the New Era”.

Ms. Linh again: “This is the first time an exhibition of this scale has been held, featuring 500 selected images, documents, and valuable artifacts, designed in a stylized figure of 100, using modern presentation technology to vividly recreate the proud journey of revolutionary journalism.”

At the 2025 National Press Festival, media outlets will showcase their multi-platform journalism products integrated with new technologies such as AI, 3D modeling, and virtual reality. With its expansive scale and enthusiastic participation of media agencies, this year’s festival will reaffirm the pioneering role of journalism in national development and open up new opportunities for journalism development in the digital transformation era.
