(VOVWORLD) -The press should be encouraged to deal more with social oversight and criticism, particularly in healthcare, education, the environment, anti-corruption, anti-waste, subversive activities, administrative reform, and social welfare, said Vietnam Fatherland Front Chairman Do Van Chien.

At a meeting with press agencies in Hanoi on Monday to mark the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), which also saw the presence of VOV Vice President Ngo Minh Hien, Mr. Chien called for strengthening multi-platform communication and improving the digital capabilities of the local press and the media of socio-political organizations.

“Journalistic works have reflected the people’s life to the Party and State, inspired and spread the spirit of great national unity and creativity in labor and production,” said Chien.
