Long Thanh International Airport is designed as largest airport in Vietnam, with an annual capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo. The project is of great importance to the socio-economic development of the southern delta and Vietnam.

Thanks to the Prime Minister's strong leadership and the determination of ministries, sectors, and localities, construction is steadily progressing, and a four-story terminal, a modern air traffic control tower, and an international-standard runway are already in place. There are 7,000 experts, engineers, and workers on the construction site together with 3,000 pieces of equipment.

The construction of the passenger terminal has been completed, including reinforced concrete columns for both the underground structure and all four floors. Additionally, more than half of the work on the runway, taxiway, aircraft parking area, and related structures have been finished.

Duong Quang Dien, Deputy Director of the project’s management board, said they are resolved to complete the roof before the rainy season and begin installing equipment in the terminal. “We are three months ahead of schedule. Our goal is to complete the runway before April 30, 2025. More than 70% of the traffic routes have been completed, exceeding the contract schedule.”

Long Thanh airport is expected to boost economic growth, tourism, and trade of Vietnam’s southeast region and become one of the most modern airports in Southeast Asia.
