The Hue National Tourism Year 2025 is a milestone in promoting Hue city’s sustainable development based on preserving and promoting its heritages. The activities will also help Hue attract more development investment, said Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial People's Committee.

“The National Tourism Year is an opportunity for Hue's tourism sector to create a breakthrough. We’ll focus on building tourism products and promoting Hue as a centrally-run city. We’ll design a strategy to make tourism a spearhead economic sector,” said Binh.

The Hue National Tourism Year will feature multiple activities throughout the four seasons of the year. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will organize 8 national events. Thua Thien-Hue province will host 62 activities. Other provinces and cities will organize more than 100 related activities.

Nguyen Trung Khanh, President of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said: “Thua Thien-Hue province has the honor of hosting the National Tourism Year with the theme "Hue: ancient capital – new opportunities". With a series of inter-provincial, national and international activities taking place throughout 2025, we believe that the Hue National Tourism Year will promote the values and potential of Thua Thien-Hue province and Vietnam in general thus making tourism a spearhead economic sector ".

Last year, Thua Thien-Hue welcomed 3.9 million visitors. It hopes to serve between 4.8 and 5 million tourists this year, 30-40% of them will be foreigners.
