100 children attended a Mid-Autumn celebration at the cultural house of Ea Kenh commune, Krong Pak district. The program “Lanterns light up dreams” featured a quiz on the Full-moon Festival and classes on making mooncakes and lanterns and arranging a five-fruit tray.

H’Thuong Nie of Drao hamlet said: “I’m enjoying the Mid-Autumn Festival program. I’m making moon cakes and lanterns, playing folk games, and enjoying the feast. I’m very happy. I want to participate in more programs like this.”

Nguyen Thi Thuy Hien, Deputy Director of the Youth Cultural House of Dak Lak province, said the “Lanterns light up dreams” program will be held in Ea Tul commune, Cu Mgar district, where the children will enjoy art performances and other activities.

“They’ll make mooncakes, decorate mini landscapes and lanterns with the theme “President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Highlands”, and play folk games. The Organizing Board has prepared some interesting gifts for them. The Mid-Autumn lantern procession will make a deep impression on them,” Hien said.

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the children of Dak Lak have undertaken actions to help children affected by natural disasters. Schools in Buon Ma Thuot city have raised money to buy school supplies for less fortunate children.

Mai Yumi of Doan Thi Diem Secondary School said: “On the occasion of Mid-Autumn, my school encourages pupils to donate something to the children in flooded areas. We hope our small contributions will help them enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.”
