Vietnamese, RoK navies hold consultation

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam People’s Navy and Republic of Korea Navy held their first bilateral consultation in Hai Phong City on Monday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Rear Admiral Pham Khac Luong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vietnam People’s Navy and Rear Admiral KwaK Kwang Sub, Director of Policy Department of the RoK Navy Command.

Both sides reviewed the outcomes of cooperation, including exchange of visits at all levels and exchange of experience in areas of mutual interest. The leaders of the two navies regularly met on the sidelines of multilateral forums to promote bilateral cooperation.

The two sides will continue to exchange high-level delegations, maintain bilateral naval consultation, send ships to the other’s country and officials to conferences and seminars, to cooperate on search and rescue, and combat pirates.

The second bilateral consultation will be hosted by the RoK Navy in 2025.
