Vietnamese, Philippine navies join 6th exchange on Song Tu Dong Island

(VOVWORLD) - Naval forces of Vietnam and the Philippines have joined the 6th Naval Exchange on Vietnamese Song Tu Dong Island.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Colonel Vi Duc Thanh, Deputy Commander of the Naval Region 4 High Command, while the Filipino delegation was led by Commander of Philippines’s Naval Force West, Commodore Alan M Javier.

During the exchange, the two sides shared information related to search and rescue work, maritime security, and natural disaster warning, practiced the Code for Unexpected Encounters at Sea (CUES), and discussed the agenda for the next exchange on Song Tu Tay Island in 2024.

They also proposed solutions for information sharing and jointly conducting search and rescue operations in the coming time. The two also engaged in art performances and a number of sports activities.
