Vietnamese Chinese Coast Guards conduct joint patrol

(VOVWORLD) - From November 25 to 30, the Vietnam Coast Guard, represented by Coast Guard Region 1 Command and vessels 8004 and 8003 led by Colonel Luong Cao Khai, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 1, carried out the second joint patrol of 2024 with the China Coast Guard.

This patrol focused on the waters adjacent to the demarcation line of the Gulf of Tonkin, spanning 13 designated points—from 13 nautical miles east of Tran Island to 50 nautical miles northeast of Con Co Island.

Key activities during the patrol included holding exchange talks between the two forces, inspecting and monitoring fishing vessels operating near the demarcation line, disseminating information on maritime operating regulations, and conducting professional exchanges on search and rescue operations at sea.
