The Deputy Prime Minister applauded APM Terminals’ plan to develop a green fleet and green seaport amid increasingly strict technical barriers, environmental criteria, and greenhouse gas emissions facing the shipping and seaport industry. With the policy of quickly converting to renewable energy, Vietnam is ready to create conditions for APM Terminals to pilot a green seaport project, he said.
Svendsen said the commitment to net-zero emissions that Vietnam delivered at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) fits his company’s orientation to develop a green fleet and green seaports in the coming years. APM Terminals Company wishes to explore investment opportunities to build the big and modern deep-water container seaports in Vietnam through digital, lean and green initiatives, he said.
