Binh Dinh has planned and managed aquatic production and environmental protection. Large-scale aquatic projects must have waste water treatment systems before discharging in to the sea. Binh Dinh province has built a high-tech agricultural port in My Thanh commune, Phu My district.

Ha Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, said: “Firstly we control all discharge sources, particularly along the sea. We have regularly evaluated the sea status quo and until now all most of the marine environmental samples are within the allowable limits. In 2023, we’ll invest in an automatic sea water monitoring station in Quy Nhon city.”

Binh Dinh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has minimized near-shore fishing, encourage offshore fishing along with vocational training for fishermen. The agriculture sector has cooperated with localities to develop aquaculture, protect and regenerate marine resources, and prohibit destructive fishing activities.

Tran Van Phuc, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said: “To develop marine economy, we’ll reduce exploitation and increase aquaculture, including coastal and onshore farming with high high-tech application. It will ensure aquaculture production and sustainable aquatic resources for long-term development.”

Binh Dinh province is building an industrial, urban, tourism, and service center in the coastal area. It will concentrate on restoring and conserving marine ecosystems to respond to climate change and rising sea water levels, realizing the National Strategy on Sustainable Marine Economic Development.
