The education sector was a bright spot. The Government has submitted to the Politburo Resolution 71 on major breakthroughs in education and training, a draft Law on Teachers, and resolutions on tuition exemptions and financial support for preschool and general-education students, the universalization of preschool education for children 3-5 years old, and mechanisms and policies aimed at accelerating education and training. In addition, the Government has proposed a National Target Program to modernize and improve education and training in the 2026-2035 period.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said: "The Government will issue guiding documents for the Law on Teachers and the three amended laws on Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. The Government will build 100 inter-level boarding schools for students in border communes by August 30 of next year and another 148 schools within the next two to three years as directed by the Politburo. The Government will also expand AI training programs and establish talent training centers. Vietnam aims to be among the 21 countries expected to achieve by 2030 the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals on quality education ahead of schedule."

The Government emphasized the need to reorganize public service units in the education and training sector, and called for the urgent development of a plan to provide a uniform set of textbooks for nationwide use starting in the 2026-2027 school year.
