For nearly 78 years of development, 1946 to 2024, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has made positive contributions to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. The Society has effectively implemented programs in health care, social relief, disaster prevention and response.

This year, the Vietnam Red Cross Society carries out the Humanitarian Month in May to help change the awareness of the Government, organizations, and individuals toward performing humanitarian work and mutual support in the community to create outstanding results.

Bui Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said: "We wish the humanitarian journey will spread widely to people of all social strata both inside and outside Vietnam to make the Humanitarian Month an all‑people movement. We aim to mobilize 15.7 million USD to support 100,000 cases, repair temporary and dilapidated houses, build kitchens for boarding schools in remote and disadvantaged areas, and help fishermen living and working in difficult circumstances.”
