(VOVWORLD) - Activities to mark "All People’s Voluntary Blood Donation Day", April 7, are being held nationwide on Sunday, collecting hundreds of blood units at each site.

Since 2008, Vietnam has mobilized more than 16 million blood units, 99% of which was donated by volunteer blood donors.

The 2024 Red Journey, organized by the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and the Office of the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, will begin in June in Dak Lak province and last until July 28. The drive is expected to collect 120,000 blood units.
Over the past ten years, the Red Journey program has taken place in 58/63 provinces and cities, attracting millions of donors and collecting 810,000 blood units.
