Ho Chi Minh City is ready for the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025

(VOVWORLD) - Preparations for the United Nations Day of Vesak 2025, to be held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City from May 6 to 8, have been completed.

According to Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and Secretary General of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Vice President and Secretary General of the Vesak 2025 Organizing Committee, a thorough review of the preparations was recently conducted.

The President of the Organizing Committee, along with other members, highly praised the efforts made by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, particularly in regard to the program content, official documents, and facilities at the Vesak event venues. 

As of now, 1,300 international delegates from 85 countries and territories have officially registered to attend Vesak 2025.

"This is a reflection of Vietnam's growing stature internationally. It is also a positive outcome of the successful celebration of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification, which has inspired a sense of pride and enthusiasm, encouraging international friends to visit Vietnam," said Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien.

Most Venerable Dr. Tampalawela Dhammaratana, Executive Vice President of the International Council for the Day of Vesak (ICDV), praised Vietnam’s meticulous preparations and organization for the event.
