At an online meeting with representatives of the 63 provinces and cities Thursday, Mr. Dam stressed the importance of children going back to school saying it is associated with socio-economic recovery and development. He asked for unified instruction at all levels and in cities, rural areas, and industrial zones, and specific preventive measures and training on health screening at schools.

Deputy Prime Minister Dam said: “It’s necessary to upgrade online learning software and improve teaching on television making it part of the educational reform program. We need to have an official document guiding the testing at schools which should cover specific cases, frequency of testing, and ways to deal with children with underlying health conditions.”

He said it is necessary to continue the vaccination plan for children between five and 12 years old in line with the guidance of the health authorities, control the rate of infections at school, and come up with ways to properly tackle infections.
