Tens of thousands of people attended the ceremony and recalled the life and career of the great military strategist, who commanded the Vietnamese armies to defeat two Mongol invasions in the 13th century.
Luong Van Cau, Vice Chairman of Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee, told the commemoration: “Over the past 7 centuries, General Tran Quoc Tuan’s loyalty, patriotism, military strategy, and ideology that "people are the root of a nation" have provided valuable lessons for the current and future generations. The Con Son-Kiep Bac Autumn Festival will continue to promote traditional values and cultural attractions of the Con Son-Kiep Bac Special National Relic Site.”
A highlight of the Festival was a performance in Luc Dau river, reenacting the victory of Tran Quc Tuan’s armies against foreign invaders.
