This year’s event marks the 685th death anniversary of Huyen Quang Ton Gia, the 3rd progenitor of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism.
Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duong Thai said: “For nearly 7 centuries, the Con Son-Kiep Bac Festival has contributed to Hai Duong province’s cultural diversity and promoted Vietnamese culture. It has helped spread patriotism and goodwill to millions of Vietnamese people and has been important to the Vietnamese cultural heritage treasure.”
The 2019 Con Son-Kiep Bac Spring Festival runs until next Wednesday.
