In the three years since the Resolution of the 14th provincial Party Congress until 2025 was implemented, Ninh Thuan has achieved an average GDP growth rate of 9.28% per year, which is better than the national or south-central coast region growth rate. Last year, its GDP grew 9.4%, the 9th fastest growth of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
Pham Van Hau, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council, said that the 14th Congress term, the provincial Party Committee has renewed its leadership methods and issued resolutions to realize the locality’s development goals, with a focus on tapping potentials and strengths to boost growth.
Ninh Thuan is strongly developing its marine economy in the direction of restructuring seafood exploitation, increasing offshore fishing, and protecting national sea and island sovereignty.
Energy, particularly renewable energy, continues to be a driver of provincial growth.

Tourism has been growing rapidly and becoming a spearhead economic sector for Ninh Thuan.
Key projects and tourism infrastructure have received much investment to improve service quality. The number of tourists has increased rapidly, up 2-3 times from 2020, with revenue 2.6 times higher than in 2020.
Nui Chua National Park has been recognized by UNESCO as a global biosphere reserve; the Cham art of pottery making has been inscribed in the list of intangible cultural heritages in need of urgent safeguarding; and the Prime Minister has approved the master plan for the construction of the Ninh Chu National Tourist Area by 2045, considering it a key to promoting Ninh Thuan socioeconomic development.
According to Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, since the beginning of this year, Ninh Thuan has promoted tourism abroad, particularly in China, Taiwan (China), India, the Netherlands, and Germany.
“Such programs have introduced its image, potential, and tourism advantages to tourists with positive results. The number of visitors to Ninh Thuan has been on the rise. In the first 8 months of this year, Ninh Thuan welcomed 3 million visitors, up 20.6% from last year, reaching 95.9% of its target,” said Hoa.
Ninh Thuan’s infrastructure is increasingly meeting its growth requirements. The Government has added Thanh Son airport to the master plan for national airport and seaport development while industrial zones and zone clusters have been operating efficiently, attracting many investment projects.
Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Deputy Director of Ninh Thuan’s Department of Planning and Investment, attributed this success to an open and attractive investment environment and the formation of dynamic economic zones and a coastal economic zone in the south.
“We have regularly advised the provincial People's Committee on helping businesses fix problems, and making the investment and business environment favorable for investors and enterprises,” said Minh.
Last year, Ninh Thuan ranked 11th of 63 provinces and cities, up 19 places since 2022, and was among the 30 provinces with the best governance index in Vietnam, Minh added.
The Ninh Thuan administration has paid special attention to human development, following the motto “People are the subject and the target of development”.
People’s material and spiritual lives have steadily improved; culture, education, and health care have received strong investment; and ethnic cultures have been preserved and promoted.
Policies for revolutionary contributors and welfare policies, especially for people in remote ethnic minority areas, have been improved.
Nguyen Van Binh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said, “Ninh Thuan’s poverty rate has dropped from 14% at the beginning of the term to 4.24%. The entire province is determined to narrow the development gap between the rich and poor.”
He went on to say that coastal districts are invested in schools, classrooms, and healthcare systems. Investment in remote communes goes to electricity, roads, schools, and medical stations. People's lives are steadily improving.
Party and political system building has achieved positive outcomes. Political and ideological work, communication, and mass mobilization have created a high degree of unity in will and action.
The movement to study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle has been promoted.
The awareness of Party members and the public about self-reliance and aspiring to develop a prosperous and happy country has been raised. The responsibility of the Party Committee, leaders, and Party members to set a good example has been seen in the implementation of political tasks at the grassroots level.
