The doctors have all worked at central hospitals. Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien said: “The Ministry will send doctors with intensive training who have obtained practice certificates before being assigned to work in poor districts.” 

14 out of 154 doctors involved in the pilot project have previously worked in disadvantaged areas.
