(VOV-world)-More than 100,000 policemen and soldiers have been deployed across Yemen to secure Tuesday's presidential vote. The Defense Ministry said on Saturday that the forces are now in place at 29,000 polling stations in all Yemeni provinces. The early presidential election came as part of a UN-backed power transfer deal to pull the country back on track after one-year political crisis. Under the deal, Vice President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi will be the sole candidate in the vote to replace the long-time President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Meanwhile, thousands of people in both northern and southern regions of Yemen continued their rallies on Saturday to call for boycotting the vote, claiming that the deal did not meet their aspirations.
