(VOVworld) - The World Trade Organization has released its Panel of Judges’ final decision on Vietnam’s lawsuit taken against the US anti-dumping tariffs imposed on Vietnamese shrimps.

The panel ruled 7 out of Vietnam’s 11 claims in favor of Vietnamese shrimp exporters, including investigation procedures and dumping price range. The panel recommended the US government to adjust its regulations to comply with the WTO anti-dumping agreement and the 1994 General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. It ruled out the US application of zeroing methodology used in the Vietnamese case as irrelevant to WTO regulations. Earlier on September, the US Department of Commerce imposed an extraordinary high tax rate of over 25% on Vietnamese shrimp exports following its 8th administrative review. The DOC a year earlier applied a 0% tax rate against Vietnamese defendants, saying that they were not dumping shrimps into the US market. The Vietnamese side has requested the US to respect the WTO ruling and amend its regulations on dumping band calculation to protect Vietnamese’s interest in the lawsuit.
