As of Sunday night, 88 cases of coronavirus had been confirmed in the US, which has taken dozens of measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic, including urging its citizens not to travel to epidemic outbreaks in Italy and South Korea.

As of Monday, there had been more than 970 confirmed cases in Japan including 705 passengers onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship and 14 people returning from China on a chartered flight. The number of deaths has reached 12 and the epidemic has spread to 25 cities and prefectures across Japan, half of the country’s total localities.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo said on Monday that two Indonesians have tested positive for Covid-19, marking the first confirmed cases in the country. He was quoted as saying by Kompas new site that the two, a mother and her daughter, had made contact with a Japanese visitor who later tested positive in Malaysia.

As of 11:30 a.m on Monday, more than 89,000 cases were confirmed in 67 nations and territories. The world also recorded 3,046 fatalities, including more than 2,900 in China.
