(VOVworld) – A tripartite contact group met in Kiev on Sunday to issue a statement emphasizing the importance of a peaceful solution to Ukraine’s crisis.

The joint statement of Ukraine, Russia, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said a stronger effort is needed to resolve the crisis peacefully based on the plan proposed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and France. The statement also called on parties concerned to meet at an earliest time.
