(VOVworld) – More than 700 Vietnamese delegates and 10 foreign experts attended a workshop on hematology and blood transfusion that opened in Thanh Hoa city on Wednesday.

The workshop contributes greatly to staff training and reviewing experience to carry out new research to resolve current problems, said Nguyen Anh Tri, NIHBT Director (VNA)

Co-organized by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (NIHBT) and the Vietnam Association of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the biennial event allows domestic and foreign personnel working in the field to share their experience and discuss advances in hematology and blood transfusion. Institute Director Nguyen Anh Tri said: "The workshop contributes greatly to staff training and reviewing experience to carry out new research to resolve current problems. Through this event, we will restructure the nationwide blood transfusion system."

On the sideline of the event, the Ministry of Health and the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) signed an agreement on hemophilia treatment in Vietnam. There was an exhibit featuring recent achievements in hematology and blood transfusion.
