(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC) on Wednesday held an event on sustainable development for women-owned businesses amid the green transition.
At the event, business representatives were given an overview of green transition and sustainable development. They learned about development trends and policies in Vietnam and abroad, and how enterprises can position themselves on the path to sustainability.
VWEC Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said: "Together with the United Nations Environment Programme, we have implemented a project called “Empower: Promotes women’s economic empowerment through Green Transformation” since 2024. The project aims to help women-owned businesses strengthen climate change adaptation, carry out green transition, and promote gender equality in the process. The event today is also part of this project."
According to the National Climate Change Strategy, Vietnam aims to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
