(VOVworld) - An international group of 30 women peace activists crossed the border between the two Koreas on Sunday, calling for peace on the Korean peninsula.

 The group included two Nobel Peace Prize laureates: Mairead Maguire of Northern Ireland and Leymah Gbowee of Liberia. American activist Gloria Steinem told reporters after completing a peace march over the Demilitarized Zone that all members were very glad that the march received approval by the two governments. The march might be the first step in resuming contact between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
