WHO said Vietnam has performed well in dealing with urgent community issues including outbreaks of newly emerging infectious diseases. The results have been attributed to Vietnam’s investment in strengthening surveillance and risk assessment capacity, laboratory capacity, and capacity in disease prevention, infection control, clinical control and risk communications, which WHO describes as national capacity in preparedness for urgent health care issue response. The organization said such capacity has been tested in Vietnam over the past years, particularly in response to Covid 19.
The organization recommended Vietnam to stay vigilant and prepared for the epidemic outbreak, promptly isolate affected cases, strengthen surveillance, and share update information on the disease.
