(VOVworld) - The White House reaffirmed Friday its backing for the policy that recognizes Beijing as the sole government of "One China" after President-elect Donald Trump had a phone talk with the the leader of Chinese Teipei Tsai Ing-wen.

US National Security spokeswoman Emily Horne said there is no change to US policy on cross-Strait issues, saying the US fundamental interest is also in peaceful and stable cross-Strait relations.
The unexpected telephone talk between President elect Donald Trump and leader of Chinese Taipei Tsai Ing-wen was said to be a potential risk for an ire with China. But the Chinese government has not had any comment about it.
