Speaking in the ceremony in Can Tho City on Sunday, VOV President Nguyen The Ky asked the bureau to continue its local cultural and arts promotion. “The bureau staff, reporters, editors and technicians should strengthen their capacity and professional skills and moral standards while cooperating with local radio and TV stations to produce art and cultural programs. The Mekong Delta is an open land of abundant cultural heritages. The bureau’s programs should preserve and promote local cultural identities to meet local people’ needs for cultural, arts, sports and ethnic exchanges,” said Mr. Ky.
The VOV Mekong Delta bureau was established in April 1998 to cater for communications in politic, economic, cultural and security in 12 cities and provinces in the Mekong Delta. In recognition of its achievements over the past 20 years, the Bureau was conferred with a Labor Order, First Class.
