Speaking at the event on Saturday, VOV President Do Tien Sy emphasized that VOV has made strong efforts in delivering the Government’s directions on disaster response and providing timely updates on the typhoon development and search and rescues activities.
Mr. Sy said that VOV launches a fund-raising campaign to call on its officials and staff to support people in the disaster-affected areas.

“Responding to the calls of the Party General Secretary and the Prime Minister, and reaffirming our commitment to fulfilling political tasks and engaging in social activities, the Voice of Vietnam will continue to encourage its officials, reporters, and editors to produce the best possible coverage and contribute donations to support people affected by natural disasters, upholding the spirit of solidarity and compassion — the haves help the have-nots,” said Mr. Sy.

As typhoon Matmo is forecast to make landfall in Vietnam in the coming days, the VOV President urged all VOV departments to closely follow the situation, actively deliver storm forecasts, and provide update warnings and government instructions to help people effectively respond to heavy rains and storms.
