Many say the new arrangement will streamline the administrative apparatus and create a strong development space to maximize regional strengths.

Some voters share their opinions.

“I fully support this policy. It’s a true reform, transforming from 63 provinces and cities to 34. I hope that in the near future, the Party Central Committee’s direction will bring positive results for the nation”.

“This is a necessary move which should be done as sooner as better. It will help stabilize personnel affairs, and promptly implement the socio-economic targets set by the Government.”

People are confident that the new arrangement will bring about significant changes and have a major impact on the development of each locality and the whole country:

“The National Assembly’s approval of the Resolution on the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units is a necessary step to realize the Politburo’s policy. Under the plan, cities with high development potential have been merged. For example, Hai Duong is merged with Hai Phong. Binh Duong and Ba Ria-Vung Tau are merged with Ho Chi Minh City.”

“Merging An Giang and Kien Giang into one province will create a large area with rice fields, sea, and a long borderline. The future development potential is very strong. I strongly support this move.”
