Voter turnout in National Assembly, People’s Council elections exceeds 99%

(VOVWORLD) - More than 76 million voters cast their ballots in the elections for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 term, reaching a turnout of 99.68%, according to data from the National Election Council updated at 11:23 p.m. on Sunday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said voting concluded at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Four of the country’s 34 provinces and centrally run cities with the highest voter turnout rates were Lao Cai, Hue, Tuyen Quang and Vinh Long. All 34 provinces and cities recorded turnout rates of over 99%.
