Addressing the online event that gathered more than 130,000 delegates nationwide, PM Chinh said after 6 months of implementation, the project has made citizen information management more effective, helping to build a digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
“The project, which has helped streamline administrative procedures, has a direct positive impact on the people. It requires determination, great effort, and resolute action to go digital,” said PM Chinh.
According to the conference, personal paper documents, including health insurance cards, driving licences, job licenses, and vaccination certificates, will be integrated into the citizen ID and e-identification app VNeID. In 2022, e-authentication will be used for all information provided on the citizen IDs and VNeID.
In the 2023-2025 period, e-identification and e-authentication are expected to be applied to all people conducting administrative procedures at one-stop-shop offices at all levels.
Vietnam hopes to have between 3 to 5 million users on the VNeID app by early next year.
