(VOVworld) The situation in Syria remains complicated with escalating violence. Clashes between government forces and oppositions continued. The latest deaths in Rastan raised to at least 10 the number of civilians killed across Syria on Sunday. A senior Republican U.S. senator on Sunday called for arming Syria through the Arab League and suggested the imposition of "no drive" and "no fly" zones against Syrian military forces targeting the opposition. Meanwhile, leading opposition figures in Syria lambasted Sunday calls by the opposition abroad as well as some foreign and Arab countries for arming the rebels in Syria, stressing that it would bring about an all-out civil war. Hassan Abdul-Azim, head of the National Coordination Body objected the call and warned of the bad consequences.
