Cerence is a world-renowned American developer of AI solutions for automobiles and its voice assistance has been applied to nearly 400 million cars globally.

It will provide VinFast with a number of core technologies such as automatic speech recognition, natural language understanding (NLU), text-to-speech, and natural language generation (NLG) and enhancing voice signals to develop virtual assistance capable of two-way communication like humans.

The automotive assistant can understand the user’s commands and questions in six different languages, namely English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch.

In the version jointly developed by Cerence and VinFast, users can interrupt the virtual assistant to give new commands instead of having to listen to the entire automatic dialogue like some other programs.

VinFast will sell three smart electric car models in Vietnam, North America and Europe.
