Viettel now becomes the 6th provider of 5G network devices in the world, after Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, Samsung, and ZTE. In May 2019, Viettel and Sweden’s Ericsson Group successfully conducted the first call using fifth generation (5G) technology in Vietnam, using imported devices.
Viettel said it aims to commercialize 5G Microcell by June, 2020, and to create civil and military products on the “5G technology eco-system” developed and manufactured in Vietnam.
