Viettel e-wallet helps spread digital payment to African countries

The International Business Awards have been described by the New York Post as the Oscars for international business.

Lumitel began offering e-wallet services in March 2017. At that time, there were 2 e-wallets in Burundi: Ecocash and Smart Pesa. In less than a year Lumitel e-wallet built a distribution channel with nearly 16,800 agents covering 86% of Burundi and became Burundi’s largest mobile money distribution service.
