Vietnam’s trade surplus to reach 1.5 billion USD in 2014

(VOVworld) – Vietnam racked up 2.1 billion USD in trade surplus by the end of November. However, year-end intensive imports are likely to make Vietnam’s trade surplus slide to 1.5 billion USD for the entire year.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Imports and Exports Department says export growths were recorded in almost all groups of products over the year with the processing industry taking the lead with a turnover of 100 billion USD, up almost 15% from the same period last year. It’s followed by the agro-aquactulture sector.

The US remained Vietnam’s largest consumer with 26.2 billion USD in export value, a year on year increase of 21.3%.
