(VOVWORLD) - Fried spring rolls have secured the eighth position on the list of the world's top 10 shrimp-based dishes with rice, as voted by readers of the international cuisine magazine TasteAtlas.

This list was compiled using feedback from around 340,000 food enthusiasts, emphasizing unique flavors and widespread popularity.

Fried spring rolls contain a mixture of ground pork and shrimp, strips of taro, carrot, cassava or wood ear, all wrapped in rice paper before being deep-fried in hot oil. The best rolls have a golden, crispy, and light outer layer. They are often served with sweet and sour fish sauce, rice vermicelli and fresh herbs.
