Although bun cha or similar varieties can be found in other parts of Vietnam, the local Hanoi version is held in high regard, according to the site. The dish became internationally recognized in 2016 when it was featured on the television series Parts Unknown, in which the host Anthony Bourdain enjoyed the dish together with the US president Barack Obama.

Other dishes include chè or sweet soup, Vietnamese beef stew, Hue breakfast noodle soup, Vietnamese quẩy, a deep-fried snack inspired by the popular Chinese delicacy youtiao, crispy Vietnamese pancake, fried spring rolls, and banh mi.

The final dish on the list is Pho, also the most popular in Vietnam and holds a special place in the hearts of many in the West due to its intricate blend of distinct flavors and refined simplicity. The stock is made from beef or chicken bones stewed for at least three hours while the toppings of the beef-based version include thinly sliced fatty brisket, flank, eye-round steak, tripe, and cooked and raw beef. It is served piping hot in a bowl along with rice noodles, and it's typically topped with cilantro, sliced onions, and chopped green onions, according to TasteAtlas.
