In 2023, Vietnam aims to earn 4 billion USD from rice export.

Deputy Director of the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tran Thanh Hai, said: "Rice is a key product of Vietnam’s exports. Vietnam’s rice export has increased in both volume and price, especially in recent months. Vietnam’s rice prices have surpassed Thailand and India."

Last year, Vietnam exported more than 7 million tons earning 3.45 billion USD, according to General Department of Vietnam Customs. A ton of exported Vietnamese rice was sold for 537 USD in February this year, a 17 USD jump from January, and a significant jump from last year’s 486 USD.

Vietnam’s traditional markets like China and the Philippines are increasing their rice import, which will help Vietnam export 7 million tons of rice this year.
