The ECR3 is currently on a peacekeeping mission under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

The Vietnamese peacekeepers and international military, civilian, and peacekeeping forces attended a march for the environment, collected garbage, and planted trees along the main roads of the mission’s compound. They also collected plastic waste at the densely populated Mul Mul Market.

"These activities demonstrate our commitment not only to our duties but also to global efforts to safeguard the environment. Peacekeeping goes hand in hand with protecting the planet, which is both practical and deeply humane," Commander of ECR3’s Logistics and Support Platoon, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Nam said.

"I’m proud to have taken part in environmental protection in such a challenging area. I can feel the camaraderie from our team, as well as the enthusiasm of local residents, especially the children. Their excitement while planting trees is a huge motivation for us," Captain Nguyen Thi Thuy Ha, a first-time participant, said.

In addition to participating in World Environment Day activities, the ECR3 has made significant contributions to raising awareness and improving the lives of Abyei people. They have impressed not only as professional peacekeepers, but also as ambassadors of Vietnam’s commitment to peace, environmental protection, and community well-being.
