(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese embassy in Cambodia held a meeting on Friday to mark Vietnam’s 69th National Day. Chairman of Cambodia’s Parliament Heng Samrin and many other senior Cambodian government and parliamentarian officials, and the diplomatic corps in Phnom Penh attended the function. Ambassador Thach Du reiterated Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, openness, adding that Vietnam wants to be a friend and a reliable and responsible member in the international community. He expressed his delight at the good neighborliness and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia in recent years.
A similar ceremony was held in the Czech Republic this week. Vietnamese ambassador Truong Manh Son praised relations between the two countries in the first 8 months of the year, which witnessed a number of delegation exchanges.
