Huong said the labor market, employment and workers’ incomes improved in the 3rd quarter of this year.

By September, 31.8 million Vietnamese workers aged more than 15 years had been affected by COVID-19 and 69% of them had reduced incomes.

Valentina Barcuci, Deputy Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Vietnam, said the statistics manifest the epidemic’s impact on the labor market in the past months.

Despite improvements, the labor market has not recovered yet, she said, adding that she wants to continue to work with the GSO to survey the labor market and employment in Vietnam in the future
