In its article published on Sunday, Reporte Asia stated that Vietnam has held key international roles, including ASEAN Chair in 1998, 2010, and 2020; the host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forums in 2006 and 2017; and the member of the UN Human Rights Council in 2014–2016 and 2023–2025, demonstrating its commitment to dialogue and joint problem-solving.

The Southeast Asian country has actively joined UN peacekeeping operations, with Vietnamese medical and engineering personnel serving in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and Abyei, making meaningful contributions to global peace in a way that resonates with the deep humanistic values of Latin American countries, the article said.

In Latin America, Vietnam has strengthened cooperation with many organisations such the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), aiming to foster connectivity among countries for shared interests.

Besides, Vietnam engages with regional countries across areas, ranging from agricultural trade, sharing farming techniques, to learning from education models and sustainable development practices. The article attributed Vietnam’s successful international integration to its policy of multilateral diplomacy.
