Speaking at an online conference to announce the outcomes of COP26, Minister Ha said that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made strong commitments to working closely with the international community in climate change response. He said COP26’s success is reflected in the adoption of the Glasgow Agreement and many other breakthrough pledges on this issue.

'In 2021, the world community took greater action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. The Prime Minister’s pledges at COP26 reflect Vietnam’s strong political determination and commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emission by 2050, reducing methadone gas emission by 2030, and shifting from coal power to clean energy in order to move from fossil energy use. Vietnam’s commitments have received international praise,' said Minister Ha.

UK Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward and representatives of international organizations praised Vietnam’s contributions to COP26 and pledged to work closely with Vietnam to realize these commitments and implement the Nationally-Determined Contribution.
