The Vietnam-Laos Inter-governmental Committee meets in Hanoi on January 10, 2022.

At the meeting co-chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Lao counterpart Phankham Viphavanh, both sides agreed that bilateral cooperation across the board improved last year, particularly in politics, national defense, economics, and people-to-people exchange.

They agreed to increase bilateral trade by 10% this year and work closely to organize a Year of Solidarity and Friendship between the two countries in 2022.
