At a banquet in honor of visiting Irish President Michael Daniel Higgins on Monday, President Tran Dai Quang stressed that both countries hold great potential for cooperation in areas of mutual interests. He hoped that Vietnam and Ireland will enter a new period of development, especially when the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement is signed.

Irish President Michael Daniel Higgins also voiced his wish to bolster cooperation with Vietnam.
