Mr. Trong praised the outcomes of talks between the Vietnamese and French top legislators highlighting the role of the two legislatures in bilateral ties. He asked the two sides to bring their strategic partnership and cooperation to a new development period to bring practical benefits for the two peoples and contribute to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

French Senate President Gérard Larcher praised the expansion of the strategic partnership in all areas saying France respects Vietnam's role and position and the France-Vietnam relationship.
He expressed his wish to further deepen bilateral ties in digital technology, digital transformation, green transition, renewable energy, climate change response, national defense and people-to-people exchanges.
The same day, the French Senate President met with Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
During the meetings, the leaders praised the development of bilateral ties and discussed ways to further bilateral cooperation in various fields.
