Earlier, Head Coach Mai Duc Chung confirmed the list of 22 players who will comprise the team at the tournament.

Their goal is to advance to the quarterfinals. The Vietnamese women's team greatest achievement at the ASIAD competition was reaching the semifinals in 2014.
